Crickets chirping!

Dias Das Mortas today (Day of the Dead) and it is a holiday so no visit from McFab and Right Hand Man…shucks!

Big fat bullfrog showed up snapping at flies, luminescent moths, mosquitos and other such critters. Yeah, he (?) is my hero.

Ankle looks like Frankenstein project but better each day. Leaving it exposed to the air and ghastly glances. Finished Mark Twain and onto AkuAku about Easter Island digs. It even has photos! I have drug it around since I bought it in Hawaii. Down to three books so I will have to start scrounging soon. Think there are a few lying around here from the previous owners. May have to put them out in the sun a bit before cracking them.

Thought we were going on an adventure over the weekend but for some reason Ana and Dario have reservations about going to her parents. They live in a beach town a few hours from here. Hard to mask my disappointment. Haven’t been outdoors much for over a week and that was to come home from the hospital! Spent six days there so…you do the math!

Not complaining, mind you…don’t want any excitement for awhile. Working on projects I can do while sitting with my leg perched on a stool. I can’t last very long with my knee bent, holding it up from the floor. Starts throbbing and then the pain is too hard to control. So unless we can organize a tall stool or a small scale to bring into the house…looks like I may be 86’d from working on the veggie production for awhile. AHHH! Sucks to be me right now.

Started thinking about ideas for a book or …what?

Marquinhos must have gotten scared off since he has not returned for English classes, the little turd! He came to the door, saw Ana and told her he had to get a drink of water and never returned. Perhaps he can’t find the papers I gave him to study and he is afraid of the consequences…I could make up a lot of stories but will keep you in the loop when I find out what really happened..or what he is willing to tell me!

Ana and Dario just arrived with a load of plastic bags from the grocery store. I forgive them, will lecture them at a later time about plastic…snatched a roll (fluffy white French style breads that flatten to nothing when you bite into them-yum!) smeared some butter on it and cut a hunk of cheese…dinner! It’s 8:30pm and I had a veggie/rice salad at 2pm. Oatmeal with honey for breakfast. Eating more since I left the hospital yet still don’t have much of an appetite. No, this is not a diet I would recommend.

Lazy day or tv, English class (yes, Marquinhos came this afternoon!) and reading...hope all is well with everyone at home!

Hugs to all.
